DC Solicitors successfully deliver Breakfast Briefing
Last Wednesday marked the launch of DC Solicitors bi-annual Employment Law Breakfast Briefing series. Held at the Ageas Bowl, Southampton, partners Darren Tibble, Daryl Cowan and Laurence Dunn treated the 90 guests to an engaging series of presentations addressing a variety of employment law topics affecting employers.
Heading the bill was the topic of Employee Monitoring, which Darren Tibble covered. Attendees were walked through the wide range of workplace monitoring possibilities and the laws associated with them, including: employee emails, internet use, CCTV in the workplace, trackers in company vehicles and drug and alcohol tests.
Laurence Dunn then examined the case of Ramphal v Department for Transport, which considered the level of influence permitted by HR advisers in disciplinary hearings.
Finally, to bring an end to the morning, Daryl Cowan then expanded upon the potential legal consequences for employment law should the vote go in favour of Brexit on the 23rd June.
We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended and we hope you found it an informative, useful and sometimes amusing session!
We will be hosting another Breakfast Briefing towards the end of the year, so please keep an eye out for your invitation.
